POETRY CONSULTS OFFERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS USING ARTS INTEGRATION AND SPECIALIZe IN WORKING WITH ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS.

WORKSHOP MODELS
Workshops use immersive activities (online and in-person) as well as humor to help participants explore their creativity and verse. Interactive participation and collaboration online allows participants to weave poems simultaneously; bridging their outside world with our common human experience.
Poetry is a platform to give both voice and meaning to our experiences as well as a point of departure from which to lead in our own lives.
POETRY 101: AN INTRODUCTION
A 2-hour introductory workshop,
(up to 15 participants)
Workshop dismantles myths about poetry and language development and showcases how it can be used for team-building and leadership development. Workshop uses sample exercises to elicit responses from participants.
ADVANCE LANGUAGE & LITERACY
A 10-part, 60 minute workshop series,
(up to 30 participants)
The first 9 sessions include writing, editing, and reciting. The final and tenth session is a poetry reading for students, family, and the school community. It includes an electronic and print copy of a poetry book. Pre and post-tests are used for assessment measures.

BUILD PARTNERSHIPS
Three, 2-hour sessions (up to 50 participants) or (51-100 participants)
Includes writing, editing, reciting and strategies for team-building and leadership development. This session also includes implementation of poems as public art in the workplace, a performance or content for a fundraising event or a Board presentation.
